We create pathways for learners and researchers to access emerging technologies while ensuring ethical, inclusive and community-centred application.
Our Technology & Innovation initiative promotes STEM exposure, coding skills, robotics, AI awareness, and university-industry linkages. The aim is to de-mystify technology for youth in smaller towns and villages and enable practical, local problem-solving.
A 12-week STEM program in District Z established robotics clubs in five schools and paired students with volunteer mentors from a technical institute. Student teams developed simple prototypes solving local issues (water level alerts, low-cost soil sensors). Two teams presented at the state science fair; one team secured a seed grant to develop a working prototype.
Impact: increased interest in STEM careers, better performance in science subjects, and demonstrable local solutions with social value.
“I built a sensor that helps my village know when the well is low.”
